How WAEC grades convert to US GPA
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) uses a 1–9 grading system with letter codes from A1 (best) to F9 (fail). US universities use a 4.0 GPA scale. This is the standard mapping used by most US credential evaluation services (WES, ECE, Scholaro):

Will US universities accept my conversion?

What's the difference between WAEC and WASSCE?
WASSCE (West African Senior School Certificate Examination) is the exam. WAEC (West African Examinations Council) is the body that administers it. People use the terms interchangeably, but technically WAEC also administers other exams (GCE, BECE). The grade conversion is the same for all.
How does NECO differ from WAEC?
NECO (National Examinations Council) uses the same A1–F9 grading scale as WAEC. The conversion to US GPA is identical. Most US universities accept either result for international applications.
Do US universities accept Nigerian university CGPA on the 5.0 scale?
